The Novi Sad Youth Forum is the largest independent representative body of youth associations, youth associations and informal groups in the territory of the City of Novi Sad and is one of the important subjects of local youth policy. In the Local Action Plan of Youth Policy, it is recognized as a relevant actor in the creation, implementation and improvement of policies, measures and activities of importance to young people.

The role of the Novi Sad Youth Forum is reflected in representing the interests of young people, encouraging their active participation in social life and strengthening cooperation between young people, youth organizations, institutions and local self-government. As a platform for gathering, connecting and public advocacy, the Forum contributes to the development of dialogue, exchange of opinions and the launch of initiatives that respond to the real needs of young people in Novi Sad.

The mission of the Novi Sad Youth Forum is to contribute to the improvement of the position of young people and the social development of Novi Sad through the processes of advocacy, active participation and building a reliable partnership with institutions. The Forum provides a space where the position of young people, current issues of youth policy, as well as other topics of importance to young people in the local community are openly discussed.

The special importance of the Forum is also reflected in its position in the wider system of youth policy of the City of Novi Sad, in which, together with the City Administration for Sports and Youth – Youth Office, Youth Council, youth organisations, youth associations and other relevant actors, it participates in creating an enabling environment for the personal, social and professional development of young people.

The Forum brings together youth organisations, their federations and informal youth groups, and its delegates can be elected to various working bodies, commissions, committees and councils formed by local institutions and organisations, whose work is important for youth policy in the territory of Novi Sad. In this way, the Novi Sad Youth Forum directly contributes to greater involvement of young people in decision-making processes and strengthening their role in public life.
The vision of the Novi Sad Youth Forum is for young people to become the main drivers and actors of the city’s development through equal participation in the work of institutions and shaping local policies. Its strategic priorities are aimed at increasing the participation of young people in decision-making processes in Novi Sad, as well as improving the internal capacities and resources of the Forum.

The City of Novi Sad is committed to further strengthening the participation of young people in public policies and decision-making processes through cooperation with youth representative bodies, such as the Novi Sad Youth Forum, contributing to the development of a responsible, open and modern local community.
